Terms of service
Last updated: 05/08/2026
1. About these terms
These terms set out how I work, what you get, what things cost and what each of us is responsible for. They apply to every website build, add-on and care plan I provide.
They're written in plain English on purpose. If anything here isn't clear, ask me before you agree to it.
By accepting a quote from me, you're agreeing to these terms.
2. Who you're dealing with
AHConsultancy is a sole trader business run by me, Adam Henson, based in Cork. You deal with me directly, from the first conversation to the day your site goes live and afterwards.
VAT: I am not currently registered for VAT, so the prices shown on my website and in your quote are the prices you pay — there is nothing added on top. Should VAT registration become required by law, VAT will be added to fees from that date, and I'll give you at least 30 days' written notice before it applies.
3. The free consultation
The first conversation is free and carries no obligation on either side. It's a chance for you to tell me what your business does and what you're hoping for, and for me to tell you honestly what I think you need — including if that turns out to be less than you came for, or nothing at all.
Nothing is agreed until you have a written quote from me and you've accepted it.
4. What's included in every build
Every website build includes the following as standard, at no extra cost:
The website itself
- Up to five pages, designed and built
- Designed for phones first, then tested on tablet and desktop
- A colour palette and font pairing chosen for your business
- A contact form that delivers to your email
- Click-to-call and click-to-email so customers can reach you in one tap
- Links to your social media accounts
- A WhatsApp contact button, if you need one
Getting you found and trusted
- Page titles, descriptions, headings and image descriptions written for search engines
- A sitemap submitted to Google so your pages get indexed
- Your domain connected and secured with an SSL certificate
- A cookie notice and privacy policy page
- Basic visitor tracking set up so you can see how many people are coming
Handover and support
- A written quote before any work starts, with every cost itemised
- Two rounds of revisions during the build
- A handover session showing you how to update your own site for build-only projects
- A short recorded walkthrough of your site, which is yours to keep
- 30 days after launch to report anything broken, fixed at no charge
5. Website build pricing
There are two ways to pay for a build. The website you get is the same either way.
Subsidised build — from €700 Requires a care plan with a 12-month minimum term. The lower price is subsidised because the cost is recovered over the year of the plan.
Standalone build — from €1,600 No care plan and no minimum term. The site can be handed over to you and you look after it yourself.
"From" means the price covers a standard five-page site. If your build needs more than that — extra pages, a shop, booking — those are priced as add-ons below and included in your written quote before any work starts.
6. Add-ons
The following can be added to any build. All prices are one-off unless stated otherwise, and all add-ons are agreed in writing before work begins.
Logo & favicon — €150
Three initial concepts. Two rounds of refinement on the concept you choose, plus a matching favicon for your website.
Further refinements are €50 each. If you'd prefer an entirely new set of concepts rather than refinements to an existing one, that's a further €150.
Refinement means changes to colour, size, spacing or typeface. A different symbol or idea is a new direction.
Business card design and ordering — €100
One double-sided business card design, with two rounds of revisions, and I'll place the print order for you through Vistaprint.
The cost of printing the cards themselves is separate and paid by you directly. It varies depending on how many you want and the quality of card and finish you choose. I'll confirm the exact printing cost with you before placing any order, and I take no margin on it.
Social banner — €25 per banner
A banner image sized correctly for the platform you need — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or your Google Business Profile. Two rounds of revisions included.
Extra page — €85 per page
Design and build of any page beyond the five included in a standard build.
Website copywriting — €85 per page
I write the text for your page, based on a short conversation about your business. Two rounds of revisions included.
Google Business Profile setup — €120
Creating or claiming your listing, filling in your details, categories, opening hours, service areas and photos, and setting up a review link you can share with customers.
Trustpilot setup or claiming — €75
Creating or claiming your Trustpilot profile, completing your business details, and setting up a review invitation link you can send to customers.
Business email setup — €90
Setting up email on your own domain, so you're contacting customers from you@yourbusiness.ie rather than a personal address.
My fee covers the setup only. The email hosting itself carries an ongoing monthly cost, charged directly to you by the provider. The account is in your name and paid on your card. I take no margin on it and I'll tell you exactly what it costs before we begin.
Migration from an existing website — from €200
Moving your content and images across from your current website, and setting up redirects so you don't lose the position you've built on Google.
€200 covers up to five pages, then €25 per page after that.
Before quoting I'll take a look at your existing site. If it's built in a way that makes migration unusually difficult, I'll tell you before you commit.
Online booking — €250
Setting up an online booking system so customers can book appointments themselves. Includes configuring your availability, confirmation and reminder emails, and integrating it into your website.
The booking service carries an ongoing cost charged directly to you by the provider. I take no margin on it and I'll confirm what it costs before we begin.
Online shop setup — €500
Turning your website into an online shop — payment processing, shipping rates, tax settings, and up to 20 products loaded.
Payment processing fees are charged by the payment provider and are not part of my fee.
Product uploads
- €150 per 50 products, or part thereof, where you supply the product details and images yourself. So 50 products is €150, 60 is €300, 120 is €450. What I need from you is set out here: Product upload guide
- €15 per product where I create the listing from scratch — writing the description, preparing the image and setting up options such as size or colour.
Express build — €250
Your website live within one week of receiving everything I need from you, rather than the standard timeframe.
Additional training — €70 per hour
A handover session is included with every build-only project, and further sessions are included where genuinely required. This charge applies only to substantial additional training — for example, training several staff members, or a full session on a part of the site you haven't used before.
7. Care plans
Care plans keep your website running and up to date after launch. Full details of what each plan includes are on my website.
- Essentials — €89 per month
- Growth — €179 per month
- Partner — €299 per month
Minimum term. If you took the subsidised build, your care plan runs for a minimum of 12 months. After that it continues month to month.
No minimum term applies if you paid for a standalone build and choose to add a care plan afterwards.
Paying annually. Pay 12 months up front and you get two months free.
Unused allowances — such as content edit hours — don't roll over from one month to the next.
Changing plans. You can move up a plan at any time, effective immediately. You can move down a plan at the end of your minimum term, with 30 days' notice.
8. Marketing
I offer Google Ads, and only Google Ads. It's the channel I know well and the one that works best for the businesses I build for — someone searching for a plumber, a physio or a butcher near them, at the exact moment they want one.
What I don't do
I can create content and images for social media, but I don't manage the accounts or create ads, and I won't pretend otherwise. Done properly it's a specialist job, and I'd rather tell you that than do it badly and charge you for it. If social media ads matter to your business, I'm happy to point you towards someone who does it well, and I'll build your website so it works alongside whatever you're doing there.
Google Ads setup — €300
A one-off fee covering: setting up your Google Ads account, researching the terms your customers actually search for, structuring your campaign, writing your ads, building a negative keyword list so you're not paying for the wrong clicks, and installing conversion tracking so we can both see what's working.
Google Ads management — 25% of your ad spend, minimum €150 per month
Ongoing work on your campaign: reviewing what people actually searched to reach you, cutting the terms that waste money, testing new ad wording, adjusting bids, and sending you a monthly summary of what you spent, what came of it, and what I'd change next.
The management fee is 25% of what you spent with Google that month, or €150, whichever is greater. It's invoiced in arrears, based on your actual spend, so you're never charged on a budget you didn't use. The minimum exists because a small campaign takes much the same work as a large one.
There's a three-month minimum term. Ads need time and data before they can be judged fairly, and anything shorter is money spent learning nothing.
Your ad spend
Your advertising budget is paid directly to Google, from your own card, on an account in your own name. I never handle your ad money and I take no margin on it. You set the budget, you can see exactly what's being spent at any time, and you can pause it yourself whenever you like.
What I can and can't promise
I'll set your campaign up properly and work on it honestly. I can't promise a number of enquiries, a cost per enquiry, or a return on your spend — anyone who promises those things is guessing. What I will do is tell you plainly if your budget is too small to be worth spending, or if your money would do more elsewhere.
Before you spend anything on ads
For a lot of small local businesses, a well-managed Google Business Profile and a steady flow of reviews does more than paid advertising, and costs nothing per click. If I think that's true for you, I'll say so before I take a setup fee.
9. Payment
Deposit. A deposit of 50% of the build cost is payable when you accept your quote. Work begins once the deposit has been received. The deposit is non-refundable once work has started.
Balance. The remaining 50% is due on completion and before your website goes live.
Care plans are billed monthly in advance, starting on the day your site goes live. Annual payments are due in full at the start of the term.
How to pay. By bank transfer to the account that will be shared with you, cash or cheque.
Third-party costs — domain registration, email hosting, booking services, printing, payment processing all have costs. But I take no margin on any of them and will always tell you the cost before you commit.
10. Late payment
If an invoice isn't paid by its due date, statutory late payment interest applies under the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012.
That interest is charged at the European Central Bank main refinancing rate plus 8 percentage points, calculated daily on the outstanding amount from the day after the due date until the day it's paid. Under the same Regulations I'm also entitled to fixed compensation for recovery costs — €40 on invoices under €1,000, €70 between €1,000 and €10,000, and €100 above that — together with any further reasonable costs of recovering the debt.
I'd far rather never use any of this. If an invoice is going to be late, tell me and we'll work something out.
If payment remains outstanding 30 days after the due date, I may suspend work and, where a care plan is unpaid, suspend hosting of your website until the account is brought up to date. I'll always give you written warning before suspending anything.
Your website remains yours throughout. Suspension means the site is temporarily offline, not that anything is taken from you.
11. What I need from you
A website build depends on you as much as on me. To keep things moving:
Before we start. I'll send you a list of what I need — your text or notes for it, images, logo files, and access to your domain and any existing accounts. Your build slot begins once I have these.
During the build. I'll come back to you with drafts and questions. Please reply within three to five business days so the project keeps moving.
Content you supply. You confirm that any text, images or logos you give me are yours to use, or that you have permission to use them. If a third party claims otherwise, that's your responsibility, not mine.
If a project goes quiet. If I don't hear from you for 30 calendar days despite a written reminder, I'll park the project and free up the slot. Your deposit and any work completed remain valid. Restarting a parked project costs €150 and is subject to my availability at that time.
12. Revisions and scope
Two rounds of revisions are included in every build. A round means one consolidated set of changes from you, not individual changes sent one at a time.
Changes beyond that, or changes that alter what was agreed in your quote — new pages, a different structure, new functionality — are quoted separately before any work is done. I won't do additional work and then bill you for it without agreeing it first.
13. What you own
- Your domain name will be registered to AHConsultancy, but will be transferred to you if you leave.
- Your content — text, images, logo, product information — is yours.
- Your website and its design are yours once the final invoice is paid.
- Your Google Business Profile, Trustpilot profile and email account are in your name.
If you leave, all of it goes with you. I'll transfer the website and any accounts I hold on your behalf, and provide what's needed to hand over to someone else. There's no charge for this and no circumstance in which I'll hold your website or domain provided payments are up to date.
I keep the right to describe the work I've done and to show your website as an example of my work — but I'll ask you first, and if you'd rather I didn't, that's the end of it.
14. Cancelling
Before work starts. Cancel at any time and you'll owe nothing.
After work starts. Your 50% deposit isn't refundable, as work has already been done. If you cancel partway through, you'll be invoiced for work completed up to that point and I'll hand over what's been built.
Care plans, within the 12-month minimum term. You may cancel, but the remaining months of the minimum term are payable. This is because the build price was subsidised on the basis of that term.
Care plans, after the minimum term. 30 days' written notice, at any time, for any reason.
My side. I may end an agreement with 30 days' notice if the working relationship isn't functioning, or immediately if I'm asked to do something illegal or dishonest. Any fees you've paid for work not yet done will be refunded.
15. What I'm responsible for, and what I'm not
I'll carry out my work with reasonable skill and care, and I'll fix anything I've got wrong.
There are limits to what I can be responsible for:
- Third-party services. Your website relies on services I don't control — hosting platforms, domain registrars, payment providers, email providers, Google. If one of them fails, I'll do what I can to help, but I'm not liable for their outages or changes.
- Search rankings. I'll build your site so search engines can find and understand it, and I'll do the work described in your plan. Nobody can guarantee a position on Google, and I won't pretend otherwise.
- Results. A good website helps a business. It doesn't guarantee sales or enquiries, and I can't promise a particular outcome.
- Content you supply. I'm not responsible for the accuracy of information you give me to publish.
- Loss. My total liability is limited to the amount you've paid me in the twelve months before the issue arose. I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost business.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
16. Your data
I'll only hold the information I need to do the work and to invoice you. I won't sell it, share it, or use it for anything else.
Where I hold access to your accounts, that access is used solely for the work you've asked me to do, and is handed back or removed when our arrangement ends.
Full details are in my Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. If you're on a care plan, I'll give you at least 30 days' written notice of any change that affects you, and the terms in force when you signed up continue to apply until then.
Prices for existing care plan clients won't be increased within a minimum term, and any increase after that comes with at least 30 days' notice.
18. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If we do fall out over something, I'd ask that you talk to me first. Most things get sorted with a phone call.
